## E-commerce Sales and Profitability Analysis
This project presents an end-to-end analysis of a synthetic e-commerce transaction dataset containing 800 unique customer orders.
The objective was to determine which product categories, regions, sales channels, and discount levels generate profitable growth while identifying factors associated with higher product return rates.
The workflow includes data validation, duplicate removal, missing-value treatment, feature creation, KPI reporting, trend analysis, segmentation, visualization, and business recommendations.
The analysis found that the business generated approximately $215,378 in revenue and $34,769 in profit, representing a 16.1% overall profit margin. Clothing generated the highest total profit and strongest category margin, while Electronics generated the highest revenue but had a comparatively low margin and high return rate. The West was the strongest region by profitability. Marketplace orders had the weakest channel margin and the highest return rate. Orders receiving discounts above 20% were generally unprofitable.
The analysis recommends prioritizing profitable category-region combinations, reducing aggressive discounting, and investigating product quality and fulfillment issues affecting Marketplace and Electronics orders.
