Amongst Great Compan(ies)

From mastering OKRs and EOS to connecting with visionary founders and mentors, Intel Ignite in Munich became a catalyst for growth and alignment.

Our recent participation in the Intel Ignite Program in Munich marked a pivotal moment in our company's trajectory. What began as an opportunity to connect with fellow European Deeptech companies evolved into a transformative experience that reshaped our approach to business in unexpected ways.

From the outset, including the extensive selection process, the program radiated high energy and innovation. This was something I would not have previously associated with Intel—high energy environments, startups, and innovation. While I can’t speak for Intel at large, Intel Ignite is full of it.

OKRs & E.O.S.

One of the most valuable outcomes of our Intel Ignite journey was the evolution of our day-to-day operations. Initially we had a set of goals and outcomes we wanted, but it was actually the structure of the goal and objective setting system that created the biggest value. When it comes to Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), who better to learn from than Intel, the pioneers themselves?

With Intel's insights into OKRs and their alignment frameworks, combined with daily, weekly, and monthly check-ins, we changed how we operate. Implementing OKRs and adopting the Level 10 Meeting framework from the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) were transformative steps that brought clarity, alignment, and accountability. Every weekly Level 10 Meeting leaves me knowing exactly what to focus on and what not to worry about. Consistency in timing, agenda, and participants is what makes it work.

The Cohort

Beyond frameworks and business insights, the true value of Intel Ignite lay in the connections within the cohort. The camaraderie and support were invaluable. Through discussions, problem-solving, and encouragement, we experienced the power of community in propelling us forward. Seeing the common struggles among teams also reinforced that the challenges we face are part of building something monumental. That mindset kept us pushing boundaries.

Special shoutout to the companies involved:

  1. Proxima Fusion – Building stellarator fusion plants

  2. Giskard – Testing and QA framework for AI systems

  3. Quantum Diamonds – Quantum sensing for semiconductors

  4. Dotphoton – Data processing and compression at scale

  5. FononTech – Impulse printing of 3D interconnects

  6. Semron – High-density edge AI inference chips

  7. Deep Detection – Multispectral analysis technology

  8. SuperDuper – AI-integrated database operations

  9. ElectricSQL – Conflict-free sync layer for apps

The mentors were also outstanding, and I know they will continue to guide Zerve in what we build next. Thank you Markus Bohl, Martha Ivanovas, Alois Eder, and Kate Hach. A true rockstar support structure. Any Deeptech founder considering the program—feel free to DM me for my thoughts.
